Spiced Crockpot Cranberry Sauce

This is a slight twist on the plain cranberry sauce found on plates on Thanksgiving and since I used the crockpot and cooked it all day, there was very little work involved. It’s more tart than regular cranberry sauce and sweetened naturally with clementines, applesauce, apple juice, and a little honey. If you prefer it more sweet than tart, simply increase the honey to 1/2 c. I used mulling spices wrapped and tied in cheesecloth to give it the “spiced” flavor. You can also use a tea infuser. Slow cooking it directly in the sauce flavored it perfectly without overpowering it.

    That sounds delicious!
I have the Tastefully Simple Mulling Spice, I bet that would be good too.

I have a question about this recipe. Are you putting the fruit of the clementines in the crockpot and garnishing with the peels? Or, only using the peel. I would love it if someone who has made it would answer as I plan to make this on Thursday for Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance.

The oranges/clementines go in the crockpot as well at the beginning. I’d say 2 oranges would be a sub for the 6-8 clementines. You can use the peel for a garnish if you like.
